...of the Republican party? Really? Another thread went a bit astray about this, so I thought I'd bring it here.

The woman's a quitter. It really is that simple. She said "f-you" to the people of Alaska and gave up. I've heard a lot of spin on it, the prominent talking heads still fawn all over her, but they're just not convincing me. In her resignation speech, it sounded like she'd prefer to be some kind of community organizer than governor. So, I'm inviting my fellow EO'ers to change my mind. I was initially very taken with her and maybe the informed and wise debaters here can get me back there.

I don't think that the ReBumLiCan party IS the answer to our problems, they have been part of the problem for so long. They are NO LESS corrupt than the Dumb-O-Crats are. What we NEED is a REAL third party. One with the GUTS to stand up and say what needs said. People who are NOT afraid to ruffle a few feathers. Palin would NOT be the person to lead it BUT would make a fine spokesperson. It will be VERY hard to find the people, there are few willing to expose themselfs and their families to the on-slaught of Pravda.

No Rocket, we are NOT doomed, YET. What so many, even maybe you sometimes, fail to see is that we are making noise to TRY to stop history from repeating itself. Not everone is complacent and accepts things as they are told too. Not everyone is willing to take total rule for a few promises.

Why would you need a high bridge? I look out for "low bridges" That made no sense. UNLESS you were talking about jumping to avoid the "pending doom". That is something I would NEVER do. Men of conviction stand up and FIGHT if needed. Only cowards take the ulitmate "escape" and run.

I agree. What kind of mindless jerk could possibly support Palin's candidacy? She is such a phoney. Let's hope she stays home to raise her many, many children. Can you believe she had the audacity to spew her drivel about conservatism and traditional family values? Is hers a family or a circus? You decide. Now, let's come to our collective senses and re-elect Obama by acclamation. My prediction: Obama carries 49 states in 2012. Those **** rednecks in Kentucky just don't get it.

I guess it's your choice to call someone a quitter because they leave a position. Using that criteria isn't Obama, Kathleen Sibelius, Janet Napolitano, Rahm Emanuel, Bill Clinton, quitters as well? All of the above listed were sworn in as senator, governors, and representative to serve the people of their respective constiuencies, yet decided not to finish their terms because they aspired or were asked to do something else.
Because they decided to stay in the public sector makes them more noble as opposed to someone who leaves public office to go into the private sector? Not really. I can't hold it against someone who has received numerous, costly, and all were frivolous complaints to come to the conclusion that they should do what's best for their family and do something else.

I agree also, Palin is just one of the avg people in this country, not one of the elite...just a conservative that believes in the Constitution, Bill of Rights and smaller representative Government of the people for the people and by the people...But the "people" voted against all of those things, they want the control that barry offered them under the ideals of hope and change...so be it, no reason to feel the need for another Conservative....not when you can have the government do everything for you , i mean why would a person want to have the ability to prosper on their own, without the government controling your moves....

Palin has no chance and there is no need to try and convince you of anything different Highway......for you to change your mind wouldn't be anything id consider a good thing anyhow. if you can be convinced by others and not by your own convictions then you can be convinced to support someone like a socialist, facist, marcist as the leader of our country....oh wait you do don't you...........

PS: Letz, If you want to jump, I know of a nice hig bridge in upper Michigan we Bungie jump off into a lake...you can jump off one end into the forest...alot of really tall dense growth of pines.....but like Layout said, jumping to kill yourself, well thats a cowards way out...living and working for change would be how anyone that cared would do it...but you jump......

Mindless jerk? Kind have lumped a whole lot of people on that one. I guess all the smart intellectuals that voted for Obama still want to defend what a great job he has done and all the extra debt he has put on this country that our children and our grandchildren and their children and their children will be paying for.
Ps.(and their children and their children.......

Look Highway, I can't convince you otherwise but I have to point out that anyone who has been elected to office and leaves for any reason has the right to do so.

But to me if they do it to leave the office for a better one, that is where I say they flipped off the voters who had faith in them. In recent months we have seen this when Obama created his cabinet. There were a number of governors tapped to fill positions and they left their state to better their careers. The governor of Kansas is one example, she couldn't wait to get out of Dodge and was on the plane to washington. What that said to me is she could care less of the state and her own career meant more than the trust of the voters.

Now palin may be gearing up for a real campaign and this is where I would say it is different because she should have resigned when she was selected for VP canaidate and not waited. I go back to Bob Dole who had the guts to say something along the lines that I can not take care of my consituents and run for the White House so I have to make a decision which in his case was to step down as senator and run the campaign as if he had everything to lose. He told John Kerry to resign in 2004 because that was the RIGHT thing to do but of course Kerry and his wife I think told dole to **** off.

We have always said at one time or another, we need someone in office that is not of the DC bunch. When one comes along she/he gets hammered by the press and others. When she/he, gets themselves into position to continue to attach the DC group, she/he gets hammered by the press and others. We ask for a third party, why? They will just get hammered by the press and others.

I liked her speech. I really like “I don’t go with the flow, we are fisherman and we know if you’re going with the flow, you are dead in the water, only dead fish go with the flow”

Now some say she is a quitter. Ok she did quit for the good of her state, so what. You really think she quit without purpose?

NOTE: THE TERM "WACK JOBS" HAS OFFICAILLY BEEN REMOVED FROM THIS POST. PLEASE DISREGARD IT.

That made no sense.

No, to you I don't suppose it does..You and I are at opposite ends of the humor spectrum.

I am not a Sarah Palin fan. I do, however, support her right to run for any office or aspire to any position she decides she wants to. Having said that, any individual who chooses to rise to a high profile position is, simply by making that choice, sticking their head out there to be "chopped" off by the opposition. John McCain described it as Wack-a-Mole, the arcade game. It doen't matter if it is Sarah Palin, or John Kerry, or Dennis Kucinich, or anyone else for that matter..Anyone who does not understand that is awfully naive. In effect, she deserves it.
