running local

sometimes i think l like running over the road get more rest
this week so far put on 1,000 miles in 4 days running local
runnning local is hard work as you have remember what time a places goes on break, lunch , opens and closes
but in the end being home on weekends and at night is good
my route is going from newport news va to richmond to pickup
run around richmond area go to petersburg, va go to waynesboro, ashland va
to williamsburg , newport news, hampton va and home

I tried doing the local thing. Rates are way too cutthroat around Detroit.

I met guys around this country and some run local or overnites and back and doing well. Just depends on where you live and the market and how much you really need to make.

I feel the exact same way you do, except in reverse. I hated being on the road. I like running local. I do what I have to do & make decent money doing it.

NYC is just as bad. I run some thin profit margins on certain runs & when I see someone take it for vastly less than I would do it for it makes me shake my head.
