I made a new thread so that those who don't want to read about ROI, don't need to find it in the middle of a different topic.
I'm also confused as to how to calculate ROI.
I'm good with P&L, but not with ROI.
I know that in real estate, it is supposed to be a simple calculation, for investment properties at least, and those knowledgable in those kinds of investments can use the calculation to determine whether a property is worth purchasing (according to their own standards)
.
I don't think it's a simple calculation for everything, but maybe I'm wrong, maybe I'm perceiving it to be more difficult than it actually is?
Seems to me that it may be one of those things that may be different for different people, because there may be intangibles involved?
Anyway, I found all these different definitions and links to them, for anyone who is stuck in their truck waiting for a few days for a load, and wants to brush up on their ROI knowledge
If anyone can come up with a 'simple' calculation which applies to the expediting industry, I'd love to know what it is. But even then, and after applying it to our own business, I still wouldn't know whether the number I came up with was good, fair, acceptable, horrible, etc.!
