CHICAGO (AP) — A federal judge has sentenced Rod Blagojevich to 14 years for corruption that included trying to sell or trade an appointment to the Senate seat vacated by President Barack Obama.

I can't see him doing the 14. Prisons are too crowded, and they're gonna keep a white collar criminal 14 years? Don't think so... can you say country club?

He'll be waiting for his pardon next year after Obama loses his election and leaves office. It's probably the reason he didn't turn states evidence on Obama. Tony Rezco is hoping the same. Obama pardoned some turkeys at thanksgiving and he probably will pardon a couple more next year.

I just have to wonder why he is not in prison now instead of in Febuary. If it was any of us, 'white collar' guys say, tax evasion etc, we would be in jail as soon as the verdict was read.

Yes. Blago and Rezco both will keep silent about Obama so they will get their pardons. Instead of doing 10 plus years they will both hedge their bets that they will be released after next year or in four years when Obama is out of office. They just have to be silent like Susan McDougal.

I mean it isn't about the senate seat, it is about the lying about the senate seat - 14 years of not hearing about him is fine with me.
