“Oh no, guess I’ll have to take a few days off.” “I won’t run my truck during Roadcheck”. “Just get your wallet out fellow drivers – the government is going to take your money”. “Those inspectors will do just about anything to give a driver a violation”. “You can’t pay me enough to drive during the inspection blitz”.

As soon as the weather gets decent the creeper cops are all out there. Wether is roadcheck week or not they will find the problem. I call Roadcheck week PAYCHECK WEEK as I slightly up my rate and take advantage of the available work and drivers hiding thier rolling garbage in thier driveways and truckstops.

Tip...
Have a good mechanic that is qualified in heavy duty truck inspections look the truck over and try to get the repairs done before road check, If its beyond the budget park untill its good to go, as an extra do a complete doll up wash, buff and wax so it looks good you might be suprised when they flag you by if your DOT numbers dont have points.

That's a good way to view it, your risk and hassle goes up but so does your pay. Our company has a dealer mechanic that goes over our truck and trailer every quarter and repairs are done at deeply discounted rates. I have never been inspected during Road Check but we do tend to get more roadside inspections because we are a flatbed company.
