And here I thought unions were "Pro Choice". Guess I was wrong. Why are they SO anti-freedom? OH YEAH, I remember, they are LEFTISTS! That's right! It all makes sense now!

Maybe they are starting to realize that union businesses are moving little by little to states that are right to work states.

It was realized a long time ago. It is just VERY difficult to set things right in a state that is SO infested with leftists as Michigan is. If it were not for family, great fishing and hunting, I would move out.

Sorry things are so difficult. :(
Instead of your incessant whining and threatening to move away, why not get involved and try to make something difficult happen.

I AM as involved as much as possible while running this business. I am not there to do any more than I am. I donated to a candidate. I put up signs in my yard. I am in contact with my state rep, state senator, federal rep and both state senators. The fact still remains that the left wing, the unions, the "gimmie goobers" etc out number the real workers in Michigan by AT LEAST 10-1. I have little voice.

My state rep is pretty good. My state senator is the senate majority leader. I know them both and hunt with the senator from time to time. My wishes are known.

There is nothing else I can do without changing careers.

I CAN move and keep this business. It is not my wish, BUT, if things continue to go down hill I may be forced too. It is not whining, it is called faced the realities in Michigan. It are what it are.

This came from Leftist of the Wikipedia site. Thought this was interesting . As you read down , look carefully at the statement of redistribution of wealth, then start paying attention to every word the President says in the future and you will truly see he is sending us to the bottom of the ocean,IMHO.

-- See also: History of the Left in France and Left–right politics
In politics, the term left wing derives from the French Revolution, as radical Montagnard and Jacobin deputies from the Third Estate generally sat to the left of the president's chair in parliament, a habit which began in the Estates General of 1789. Throughout the 19th century in France, the main line dividing left and right was between supporters of the French Republic and those of the Monarchy.[5] The June Days Uprising during the Second Republic was an attempt by the left to assert itself after the 1848 Revolution, but only a small portion of the population supported this.
In the mid-19th century, nationalism, socialism, democracy, and anti-clericalism became features of the French Left. After Napoleon III's 1851 coup and the subsequent establishment of the Second Empire, Marxism began to rival radical republicanism and utopian socialism as a force within left-wing politics. The influential Communist Manifesto by Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels, published in 1848, asserted that all human history is the history of class struggle. They predicted that a proletarian revolution would eventually overthrow bourgeois capitalism and create a classless, stateless, post-monetary society.
************************************************************************
In the United States, many leftists, social liberals, progressives and trade unionists were influenced by the works of Thomas Paine, who introduced the concept of asset-based egalitarianism, which theorises that social equality is possible by a redistribution of resources.**
*************************************************************************
The International Workingmen's Association (1864–76), sometimes called the First International, brought together delegates from many different countries, with many different views about how to reach a classless and stateless society. Following a split between supporters of Marx and Mikhail Bakunin, anarchists formed the International Workers' Association.[15] The Second International (1888–1916) became divided over the issue of World War I. Those who opposed the war, such as Vladimir Lenin and Rosa Luxemburg, saw themselves as further to the left.
In the United States after Reconstruction, the phrase "the Left" was used to describe those who supported trade unions, the civil rights movement and the anti-war movement.[13][16] More recently in the United States, left-wing and right-wing have often been used as synonyms for Democratic and Republican, or as synonyms for liberalism and conservatism respectively.[17][18][19][20]

I was referring to the subject of this thread, that is why I posted the link for this effort. I understand that you have been active in other state issues and applaud you for that.
I know that you feel out numbered with Michigan having the 5th Highest percentage of Union workers; however, the actual percentage of union workers there is 17.5 percent of the workforce which is not a majority.

The article led me to believe that there was a reasonable chance that this bill could be passed:

"Republican House Speaker Jase Bolger and Republican Senate Majority Leader Randy Richardville said they believe there are enough votes to pass the legislation and aimed to get it done by the end of 2012. It would not take effect until possibly three months into 2013, Richardville said."
If you did leave MI, where would you go that has the least number of leftist and gimme goobers?

It is not whining, it is called faced the realities in Michigan. It are what it are.

The whining comment was tongue in cheek. Sorry, forgot the smiley face.

There are more to the "gimmie goobers" in Michigan than just the union types. There are zillions of "welfare rangers", "medikaid mammas" etc. Not to mention that just everyday, plain old ordinary bums.

I was hunting with Randy Richardville a few weeks ago. We discussed this and several other topics. I owe him an email on an "sorta" trucking related issue. Moving 'special' products' for the State. I also need to email my state rep, Dale Zorn, on the right to work issue. He is a very strange bird as far as politicians go. He CALLS everyone who writes him to discuss the issue.

I pay attention. That is ALL I can afford to pay with Michigan and Federal taxes taken from me to pay for the gimmie goobers cell phones, meds and tats.
