Ride Comfort?

How close is the ride comfort of a straight truck with air ride cab in comparison with a class B van?:D:D:D

You got it backwards, how close does a van come to the ride quality of a straight truck?

That is my comment, I wonder who feels the same way? I like my truck... I like my truck.... i like my truck....

I would think it would be better like Greg said. Even more so if you figure in an air ride drive axle. The air ride steer axles make the comfortable to, but I don't like the way it makes the cab lean in curves. Maybe it's just me. I just don't like that feeling like the truck is about to lay over on it's side. It's not going to in these situations, but it sure feels like it.

Yes it take time to get used to,
When i bought the Columbia , it was hard to get used to ,
about 4 weeks down the road , i have complained on it to another driver , he had a class 8 Pit. and have just installed the Hendricksons front axel air ride .
(we had the same load going together coast to coast.)
so we switches trucks for 2 hours !,
i could not believe the ride different !
this Hendricksons do work , it is a steer axle air ride ,without the need to counter steer, like on the EOM air ride.
Am also think it is saving fuel and tires.

I love my Donvel front air ride bags in my 07 M2. For a thousand bucks you can have this installed and i'll never do without. No, i don't own stock in the co., in fact, it is a small family business that does front air ride on class 7 and 8 as well as RV's. Founded by a retired driver and his wife, Donvel also has a patent on an inline "ride control" valve that is also a must, takes away the bounce back. I was looking for such devices for my truck and thought i had to go to Canada or MI to get it, but found Donvel's ad in a trucking mag and discovered they were 40 miles from my home. You can find them in Gladewater TX. DVI - Donvel Ride Control Systems. I love driving my truck and rides better then my cushy GMC pickup.

be safe all.

Thank you for all your input. I currently drive a International with a 26' box and a DT466. I am impressed by the engine but the cab beats me up even though it's got an air seat. I am thinking about a straight truck and getting back in business after the first of the year. Thought about an Aerocell or equivelent for the ride comfort but a straight truck with a ride about as good as my f350 crew cab dually would be great.
Also would like a low profile, any comments on this cab?
Thanks again,
Al:D:D:D

I didn't like that feeling either...but it sure keeps you honest in those curves huh? ;)

I've driven a Frtln. Century without front airbags, a WesternStar with front airbags, and now a Frtln. Sprinter. S/T's with airbags (after getting used to the ride) is the only way to go. The ride in the Sprinter cannot be compared to a S/T, it's just apples and oranges.
