Looks like I was right, CONGRESS is the problem. THEY are the rich, making money off the backs of those they were elected to serve. Most likely using 'insider information' to rip off the People. The Marxists and the Capitalists are about equal in wages over all but the Marxists are in firm control of the 'Top 10" list with 8 out of 10 on the top ten list being Democrats.

And still they continue to pull the votes of the Sheeple. Keep pulling those same levers. Keep voting for the 'lessor of two evils". You know the old saying "You can't continue to do the same thing, day in and day out, and expect a different result". There was once a TV show who's title says it all:

"YOU Asked For It"

[h=1]Wealth Gap Between Congress and Average Americans Widens[/h]
According to a new report in The Washington Post, the median net worth of the current Congressrose 5% during the recession while it fell 39% for the average American. The wealthiest one-third of lawmakers saw their net worth rise 14%.

The Washington Post disclosed these statistics in a recent story on the wealth gap between Congressional members and the American public.

"These are supposed to be our representatives," says The Daily Ticker's Aaron Task. "If they're not living the same lives or understanding the lives that the average American is living, how can they really represent our interests?"

The Post analyzed the financial disclosure forms and public records for all Congressional members from 2004 to 2010. Some key findings of the report are:

  • By 2010, the median estimated wealth for members of the House of Representatives was $746,000; for senators it was $2.6 million.
  • There was virtually no difference between the wealth of Republicans and Democrats in 2010. Just six years earlier, the net worth of Republicans was 44% higher than the net worth of Democrats.
  • 28% of Congress, or 150 members, reported earning more income from outside jobs and investments than from their Congressional salary of $174,000.
  • 27% of Congressional members saw a decline in their net worth between 2004 and 2010.
Lawmakers acquired their wealth in a variety of ways but real estate, institutional funds and the wealth of their spouses were the top three sources.

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi increased her wealth by an estimated $60 million between 2004 and 2010. The gains primarily came from the commercial real estate holdings of her husband, according to The Post. Representative Darrell Issa made his reported $448 million in commercial real estate as well as other financial investments.

"We have this huge disparity that's only getting worse in terms of inequality in this country," says The Daily Ticker's Henry Blodget. "If it continues, the country will begin to break apart and get more and more antagonistic class warfare. It's something we have got to solve not only in Congress but in the American public at large."

Is Congress pursuing policies that benefit middle and lower income Americans? The Washington Post found that 73 lawmakers sponsored or co-sponsored legislation that could benefit businesses or industries that involved those Congressional members or their families.

"It's just outrageous that our legislators could be profiting directly from the legislation that they're making," says Aaron Task.

I would venture to say there has been a large disparity for the last 100 years.

. . . the Marxists are in firm control of the 'Top 10" list with 8 out of 10 on the top ten list being Democrats.

Correction: 7 out of ten and the 3 "capitalists" make more than the other 7 combined making them in firm control.
Not that it matters.

There should be laws against this! Oh, forgot. They ARE the lawmakers.:(

No changes in the foreseeable future and I highly doubt your protest vote helped the matter.

Sorry, missed one. My protest vote made as much difference as voting for the 'lessor of two evils' did. Besides I voted FOR a REAL candidate for the House seat from my district. I voted FOR a REAL candidate for the Senate. The house guy will likely win, the senate candidate will not. NO chance in heck for Romney. There are at least 5 fake votes out there to make up my one real one in Michigan.

I wish there was any way at all that was correct. Every vote cast that isn't cast for Romney is a vote cast for Obama.

Vote Mormon not Moron.

I don't understand. The Electorial college is a winner take all. Michigan will vote, in a HUGH way, for Obama. No matter what I do, that will NOT change.

Well, in that case read your crystal ball and tell me some winning lotto numbers. The only guarantee is that a vote that could have potentially helped defeat evil was wasted on a symbolic gesture. To each his own but even if I knew there was no way I'd still want to know I voted for the one option that held a chance of doing what needed to be done. Everything else is another vote for Obama.

Attention, attention, someone has hacked into layoutshooters E.O. account and/or stolen his identity. This person is wearing a LOS suit and is posing as LOS.

Exhibit A:
You know the old saying "You can't continue to do the same thing, day in and day out, and expect a different result". There was once a TV show who's title says it all: "YOU Asked For It"

It is a well documented fact that LOS has stated that TV shows are not real. Who but a LOS imposter would post a reference to a TV show to bolster their argument?

Exhibit B:

Would the real LOS rely on data from the United Nations Economist?

Joe if you can read this and are able to communicate, please get a message to us so we can help you and apprehend this imposter.

The original post should be covered in two separate threads. One dealing with Congress and the other with rich people in general. I'm too tired to get very involved in all of this, especially this piece: Related: America Has Now Become an Aristocracy of Elites: Chris Hayes

As for Mr. Blodget's quote below, isn't he adding more fuel to the class warfare fire?

I don't care how much people EARN. I first off can't stand the hippo's like Pelosi going on about the "Rich" Romney being out of touch and then all her garbage about HIM not releasing his tax info, then SHE won't.

Second, I would be all I have and then some that there are a LOT of under the table stuff going on with these people.

Like Obama. Worth 12 MILLION. He has never even held a real job for the better part of his adult life!

"You Asked For It" WAS real TV, just like Gunsmoke. REAL TV was outlawed during the Carter Administration. Dang gum Dumb-O-Crats ruin everything.

I don't go in for the class warfare stuff. I don't care who does well in the money game. Don't know much about this article. Just posted it to point out the hypocrisy they display.

Gentleman: The above article is one of many reason most Americans ( the average Joe) is being left behind. Europe, China, Japan, read up on their immediate mess. Me, you, the expediter are small grains of sand out here, really small. You want more than a buck a mile, start looking into different ways to expedite. One man in a van is a man in loose sand. We are no where near the big bucks. Sound like a downer, no, sounds like reality to me. Read " Johnathans Livingtons Seagull" may take an hour or two.
