I like him a Great leader, but his hands were not clean, and some hard lessons along the way. He used what he learned and did not repeat the mistakes.

A nation facing a military assualt from Nazi Germany had no concern or time for clean hands. Real war is not won by choir boys. War is brutal, hellish and cannot be sanitized. It was Great Britain's good fortune to have Churchill at the helm during those critical years. He was the right man, in the right place, at the right time.
