Recycled gift cards

Hello all. In the latest Money Magazine I was reading about a secondary market for store gift cards. Maybe grandma gave you a Target gift card but there are no Targets in your area, and you'd rather have cash. There are websites that will buy them from you at a discount and send you a check. Then the cards are resold online, again at a discount. I took a look and gave it a shot. I notice that the price can go up and down on a daily basis depending on demand.

I have no personal stake in these websites, I'm just passing the info along. I bought $100 in Best Buy cards for $90, then bought an XM radio that was already on sale. I bought $150 in Barnes and Noble cards for a 9% discount, and am going out today to get the Nook. There are restaurant coupons, department stores, all kinds of stuff. Again, YMMV but it might be worth a look. plasticjungle and giftcardrescue are where I bought my cards but there are other sites. Enjoy
