Hi everyone, I have a 99 Freightshaker FL70 it only has 106k miles on it. The motor a 3126 kitty and the trans spicer 7 speed. I purchased this truck from a private truck dealer in Grand Rapids MI. When I bought it I was told it had the remaining 3yr. 300k warranty on the driveline, also I looked at a few trucks at Freightliner dealer in Grand Rapids and they told me that this warranty is standard on Business class trucks, So I went ahead and purchased it (not getting anything in writing since freightliner told me the same thing) and what do ya know, its sitting in Ft.Wayne In. with a blown out tranny. I called Spicer/Dana corp to see if they would back their tranny, that got me no where, they say 2yr unlimited mileage coverage is what they come with, well now Freightliner tells me the same thing. So now I am stuck with a truck 250 miles from me that has been sitting for a week now and needs 5k to get back on the road. This was my first truck and because of this could be my last. So basically this is a heads up to any newcomers, don't make the mistake I did get the VIN# off the truck you are looking to purchase and call the manufacturer direct to find out on your coverages or get it in writing , and better luck to you, Andy. questions or comments feel free to email me @ [email protected]
