Didn't get one on today's pickup [or which airline was shipping it to the facility].
What's worse than wasting time, for me, is looking unprofessional/unprepared when at the customer. Like OVM said: we're better than that.
I blame it on the 'computer' - they're capable of all kinds of troublemaking, lol.

What MIGHT happen in cases like that...is it might be a 3pl or even 4pl load...the next person up the chain doesn't even know the AWB# yet....the chain of events are say, ahead of the flight...I've had some loads where the frieght was not even tendered to the airline yet. driver had picked it up and on way to airport....so hence no AWB#....
so the thing to do is make the call BEFORE you go in to the customer IF you know it is air freight and have no AWB # yet...
That does happen quite often. I will check into it and see what I can find out. At least we are getting more information to you guys on a more regular basis. Improvement comes in steps!
