Well... I agree with everything being spelled out. I was sold a lemon with a bad tranny. Paid $4200 for a new one three months later. But it was in the contract that I was responsible for repairs. So I never went to the owner for money. On the flip side, I was making double payments (to pay it off in two years). The owner made the brilliant observation of making his normal payments and pocketting the other half. With the letter of the contract saying the truck would be paid off in two years, I concluded what he was doing was breaking the contract, as he wouldn't have paid off $20,000 in the end.
In something as complicated as a truck lease/purchase, it's foolish not to have a professional look over the contract. You're talking about a $200 insurance policy for your $25,000+ investment. Get a lawyer. That's what they're there for.
