The TSA has a new version of their letter to get freight on commercial aircraft as of March 20th...we got burned at Cleveland airport on Sunday because of it...had to wait 5 hours for the new version to be faxed....they changed ONE word in the body of the paragraph....IT would be illegal for me to even say what it is.....shesh.....

Make sure your carrier gets the new version or you'll wait as well...

So the TSA letters we have are no good? Will new ones be sent by TSA or E1? Does TSA send them to our home address? Just like the government, more paperwork.

No...this is the TSA form you get from the shipper...not the one for us personally....

LETTER? We don't need no steenking LETTER.

We have hauled many loads that have come right out of our truck and right onto the plane, and I can't say that I have ever had to have a letter.

Think its something the carrier faxes to them, not anything that we have to have on us. The TSA letter we carry are for our purpose in case the security ask for it to see if we are a security risk roaming around in the airport.

Actually, all we really need is our TSA number, but it doesn't hurt to have the letter with the TSA number on it.

With some customers you are handed a TSA letter from that shipper that THEY are a known and approved air shippers....cargo CAN NOT go on ANY passenger air liner without this TSA form....and then there is the TSA approval that we have...that is different again....

Cargo only planes you don't need no steeeenking TSA letter...
