My apologies for cross-posting

Howdy Everyone
I've been looking into a possible career change
I'm a computer repair specialist by trade in the field. So,
I do allot of driving local & semi-local.
Been looking into Expediting driving!

Now, My question is. I know I SHOULD go to driving school.
and I'm a not go to school guy. OK you're all saying " I DON'T want this guy driving on my roads!! "

If I drive something like a SPRINTER or a Cargo van
Do I need to be licensed or what licensing do I need?
I also know I won't make as much money driving a van. But this
may allow me to drive & try a new carrer

Thanx much

A. NO most schools are a rip-off.Except for vocational schools(hard to get into)

A.We welcome all with a good attitude.

A.most co require a class c lic with hazmat endorsement. If carrier does not deal in hazmat no CDL necessary.

A.If your lifestyle expections are not too great, this can be as much fun and freedom one could expect. On the other hand if you have a big mortage, big car payments, this may not be the way to go.

A. you are welcome P.S. any of the recruters for the companies that advertise on this site will be glad to help you. Some will send detailed info on what there present contractors earn.I would not go with any unwilling to provide this information.

HARDDRIVE:

redytrk gave you a response you'd get from any of us but in addition, I'd also be wary of averages that are indicated as a wide range i.e. $40K to $70K you should try to get a specific answer such as $52,250 (my examples are not reality) 2004 was a great year for just about all of the expediters We were busy, we had a high fuel surcharge and we stayed avail, cause we were busy. My carrier will be publishing a 3 year average earnings for each truck size because 2004 may give a false sense of 2005 earings.

Guessing you are near Buffalo. There are nearly always vans parked at Jim's Truck Stop at exit 52E on I-90. If in syracuse try the Pilot Truck Stop at the first exit south of the thruway on I-81. Most anyone will be glad to talk about our biz and may even share earnings info for the last year or so.

I like your Lighthouse, Terry
