question for straight truck Drivers

We are looking at what different fleet owners are offering to potential teams and the usual ad states = 60/40 split with 100% FSC.

A few owners we have spoken to say that whoever pays for fuel will get 60% + FSC.

One team we know claimed they do NOT pay for fuel so they get the 40% but they also get 100%of the FSC.

What seems to be the usual split between owners and drivers and who gets the FSC???

Thanks

who ever is paying for fuel should get 100% of the FSC and you need to stay away from anybody who wants or tells you diffent

I get so tired of you bigots getting on this forum and directing all your questions to STRAIGHT truck drivers. Come on fellas, this is the 21st Century and their are plenty of gay truck drivers who have valid opinions and may even be able to answer your questions!!!!!

MSinger..... I drive a "D unit straight truck".

I put the class of truck in the title because I wanted to hear from drivers of this unit type.

Van and tractor trailer pay rates sometimes differ.

WOW !!!!

Lighten up, it was a joke, ok? As I'm a straight truck driver (in both senses of the word, if it matters;)) I'll say that Mjolnir's reply was the goods - whomever pays for fuel should get ALL the fuel surcharge, and a 60/40 split is the common division.

So is our new PC designation 'forward truck drivers" now? instead of straight?

BTW use MJ is easier to type out,i think i said that before or my full handle i don't care works either way

MsUsed, what the other team is talking about is they get 40% and the owner pays for fuel, then the owner probably 'gives' them 100% of the fsc either on a fuel card or com-check.
It's not their money, it's to be used to buy fuel.

in which case it not going to the team but to cover the owners fuel expenses(like it should) they can't get it off the Fuel card they are not getting it.so this again is covered by what i said.why because the owner is being less then honest as to what your getting.

to break it down

if owner pays fuel 60/40 split with owner taking 60% and all FSC or driver/team get a flat rate per mile somewhere around 38-42 cents maybe, lower if you run a small amount of expedite and most loads are just small regular freight loads

if team/driver pays fuel 60/40 with team getting the 60% and all FSC.this assumes the owner is paying for ALL maintenance, this is the half lease option.if they tell you that you have to pay for any maintenance then thing long and hard

Full lease owner gets a flat rate per month you get everything else and are paying for the maintenance.owner should pay major repairs if you have been maintaining vehicle properly and can prove it

Should have mentioned that a few companies do have some programs for teams with zero experience that the will develop you for a different split combo 48-52 or 45-55 for the first 6 months or year is the norm, and most of those still give you the 60 in bonuses for good performance. they are risking their assets to help you so that is fair i think you should sill get 100% of the FSC if your paying for the fuel

MJ, your making it more complicated than it needs to be.

60/40 split, whoever is getting the 60% gets the FSC.......plain and simple, whether it be the owner or driver.

But your right, if any owner wants the contracted driver to pay anything whatsoever towards maintenance,,,,,,,,,RUN AWAY AS FAST AS YOU CAN!!!!!!!!
