They were having problems for a couple days, it seemed to be working ok yesterday tho.

I've gotten those "send 08" messages before several times. Supposedly it only does it if you poll in the same city twice in an hour, I think it is, while under run. But... I've also gotten running late notices when I was way ahead. Qualcomm is just plain screwy somedays.

The new Qualcomm as far as I'm concerned is junk.
We have missed load offers because we turned down the volume of that annoying voice. The light telling you you have a message is...what about 2mmx3mm? I guess they just didn't think incomming messages were all that impotant.
I could go on and on, but what good would it do?

I agree trying to make any sense out of that computer voice is useless. I just call the VRU and hit Opt 6.

I agree 100%. Just had mine installed 2 weeks ago. It stinks. I wish there was a way to turn that stupid voice off, not the whole volume down. On top of that, it works worse than the old one. Takes forever to get the load info, and the messages are not in the right order. Navigation is a joke also. Takes 5 minutes to calculate the directions, and many times it comes back with 'communication error'. My 5 years old TomTom works better.
But they did not forget to start charging me $35 a week.

Avail on CLink No. Works every time. I don't like the new one all that well either though. The keyboard is horrible. The boot process takes forever when you are in a hurry to get going. I've never seen an MCP100 but Qualcomm needs to be furiously working on an MCP300 as this 200 model has a ways to go.

Yes, I forgot about the boot up time. Terrible.
I also hate the fact that I cannot have a message displayed on the screen while in motion. It would be very helpful to see the directions while moving. I don't need to send messages while moving, but I would like to see a message with the directions while moving. Just stupid.

We have had ours now for about a month.
It takes way too long to turn on, the screen is too bright at night even at it's lowest setting, the GPS takes way to long to calculate a route, if it can find a route. (It couldn't calculate a route out of Queens, NY to NJ) The touch screen keyboard is hard to use
For the most part we like the electronic logs as a team. It seemed to me that the messaging was faster and I like the games to keep me entertained while waiting to load or unload. The performance monitoring is nice as you can see your MPG and gallons of fuel used as well as idle time.
We turned down the volume as low as possible, turn the screen off at night, only use the GPS to compare to our Garmin and always put our availability on the VRU.
In my opinion this new one is not any better than the system we had. And we still have to go to the Trip Pak box.

I am thinking of installing a remote starter for the Van just to speed up the start up time. I wish they would put the name and address of the business in the load assignment call. "You have been dispatched to pick up at ABC Company, 211 Main St. at 1400 "
Playing the audio while driving is an exercise in futility, the computer voice runs all the information together without any meaningful pauses. It is not an improvement over the previous. I have used headphones and it improves the audio on a pure text message such as delivery confirmation or "this load just canceled"
