Spent 5 hours yesterday getting the unit switched to the new paperless log unit .50 Miles down the road warring lights are showing a battery problem. Made it back to the shop and was told it is just a coincidence that the alternator failed......DO YOU BUY IT?

Why would it take five hours?

I didn't know Stoops was a Qualcomm install/repair center?

Stoops in Indy is a certified qc service center. Not sure what the guys name is but from my experience he is very good and I do know they stay very busy installing and removing them both.

OK, I guess but 5 hours seems to be excessive unless that was wait time too ... maybe it was.

check alternator voltage.
if it is really bad then its a coinincidence, buy if you ecu is shorted displaying wrong error codes, then they prolly drilled into some wires or
overloade
it somehow.

It is highly unlikely, they could have damged the actual alternator, but they could have jacked up the wires at the ecu

I sent a e-mail to the C-Link department outlining what happened. There has been no response so far.

With Stoops you never know why the wait is so long. You are banished to the waiting room. I am sure the Mechanics start and stop.
It was another wait of 18 hours while they got to and replaced the alternator. Cost $452.00

Two repairs over the last 12 months. One in Indy and the other in Dayton. Replace a AC line and messed up the whole AC. 2k and it had to be redone.
Air leak at Indy spent all day there only to get the truck back and even put on the receipt they couldn't find it after a 900 dollar bill. They replaced the dryer and the leak was at the compressor which was found by Middle Georgia and repaired.
I wouldn't take a bicycle to Stoops after our two experiences.

We have only gone to Stoops (Indy) one time for a problem with the wipers not going to the park position, they were unable to get the problem resolved.

Han's FL in Cleveland figured it out in 15 minutes,so we have never been back to Stoops.

I am guessing they are parts changers rather than actual technicians. If changing the part doesn't work, they give up.
Like you, we have no plans to return. Cheaper to tow it somewhere if that is needed.

I think Stoops is on Panthers QC list of repair places but I wouldn't bother. Easier to drive to Seville or Wolverine is pretty decent in Ann Arbor.
