qualcomm and the dot

just talking to a canadian driver about the cost of intl calls cross our borders. he had a $6.75 call from dispatch asking him where he was. i am backed into the dock at the c'nee in baton rouge, was the answer. well call when you are empty and the call ended. his last cell bill was $800.00 due to intl calls.

i mentioned that this makes a good case for qc in the truck. he mentioned that one of their drivers was in a dot inspection and was asked if the dot officer could see the qc. the officer ran his messages and discovered that the qc and logs did not match. the driver was put out of service

has anyone been asked for their qc? can a dot inspector ask for/demand a drivers qc to verify log entries?

Tell the Canadian guy to switch to Telus, might not be the best service but they have a North America plan that is pretty cheap (200 bucks for 1000 anytime anywhere minutes with no roaming or LD)

I think as more companies go to E-logs the scalehouse guys will become more educated at using these tools to catch guys.
