I'd say he has a national identity, is patriotic, and willing to take what he wants. Unfortunately Americans think diplomacy will work. You may not like what he does all the time but he is a very strong leader that could take Russia to the top.

One gets the feeling that Putin wishes to reassemble as much of the former Soviet Union as possible during the remainder of Obama administration.

Russia's current leader is more like Stalin, while ours reminds of Neville Chamberlain.
