Whats the best way to purchase fuel driving a sprinter ? I'm thinking CASH ? Unless someone has some trick or reward card to offset the the extra charge for using a credit / debit card ?

Frequent Fueler Card at the Flying J, with their free showers that accumulate on the card, pretty much take care any cash discounts. I fill up at the RV or the car diesel pumps and pay with my debit card. Every couple of fillups I get a free shower and a free drink.

I can use my Comdata card and get the cash price at the big truck pumps at other places, but the Comdata transaction fee is more than the cash discount, and I can't get a free shower regardless at the TA, Pilot, others, because my fuel tank isn't big enough. Apparently, those truck stops think that if you have a small fuel tank, you don't stink.

Ditto what Turtle said about the J and the showers ...minus the comdata...
we have a credit card just for fuel and pay the balance at months end..therefore no interest charges.

Personally I use a lot of cash, but the credit card that is dedicated (by you) for fuel would be good. It does provide the transaction report with the bill every month. It helps at times when the taxman do come a looking. Upto you but the more backup cover your butt, the better.

Don't forget to get a Flying J Frequent Fueler card for your co-driver (wink) and ask a fuel desk cashier to 'link' it to your card. That way for every shower and beverage the driver earns, the co-drivers card will also reflect a shower and beverage.

I use the Flying J Frequent Fueler Card for the reasons stated and pay with a Chase Rewards credit card (a Mastercard specifically because it has a higher transaction limit out at the pumps than a Visa does) This card is used only for fuel.

The Chase Rewards cards give a 3% cash back that you can redeem every time you hit $50 in rewards - they send you a check. On diesel at $3 per gallon that reduces the fuel price to $2.91 - plus you get to work on their money for up to 30 days.

Just make sure you pay it off every month once you get past the 0% intro period.

running in hampton roads area of va, i use the watchcard fuel card
they are unman fuel stop's and cfn fuel network on the road to
also i have a flying j card but don't use it much

about the showers along time ago when i first started they said you didn't buy 50 gals, said my tank hold 30 gal's and fill up when it got to 1/2 tank, than i add 2nd tank than carried 60 gal, and 1/2 tank was 30 gal's , and i asked all the truck stop how about half price for the shower, pull out the book's and show them how much i money spend in there truck stop on food and oil change's etc and was able to get some of the truck stops to give us a break flying j was one of the first to listen, maybe you need to get everybody to call all the truck chains and say this is what we need and this is how much
spend in your truck stop
it will work
