Are there any companie that rent or lease commercial vehicles with unlimited mileage or up to 350000 miles without a per mile charge?
What kind of cost would I be looking at for this type of setup vs buying out right? With a full service lease with a 350000 mileage limit wouldn't that be the best setup?

Is this a Joke? 350000 miles could this make any sense? Glad it does not, think of all of the immidiate competition, plus what it would do to all of us who made the down deposite and purchased a truck when all of these vehicles get repossed. Imagin a 100K truck one year old being worth oh 40, and rates for a straight truck around .60 cents a mile.

i've leased a tractor for busy times and it cost $1700 per month plus $.08 per mile. that was a short term lease (almost like a rental car). If we had wanted to sign a 13 month lease it would have cost 1650 per month and .065 per mile. That was their DOT # and my MC# and insurance so they kept up with the IFTA and log books.

I'm not sure it would work full time but it was a real help during the busy times.

My driver ran over a big metal beam on I-95 near "South of the Border" and damaged beyond repair 7 tires and 3 rims. We made a phone call and within 1.5 hours we had 2 service trucks bringing him the tires and rims. The lease company paid for it all and we even made the drop ontime.

You must be wanting a tractor or van because I don't know of any leasing companies leasing C or D units . The plus side of leasing a tractor or cargo van is you get a replacement vehicle if there is considerable downtime and you get much better service anywhere in the country . The downside is many o/o's keep their vehicles working after paying them off and not having a truck payment is a nice boost in income .

Years ago Bush Leasing in the Akron Ohio area used to lease D trucks, 4-5 year leases, mainly Hino's and UD's and Internationals. There was no mileage charge, a small down payment but a real NASTY balloon payment at the the end. I think they are still in business around the country and continue to lease step vans to the FEDEX Ground guys.

I wonder what will happen to those leases since the court said FedEx Ground drivers are employees , not contractors .
