Proposing A 10% Solution

We long time members know the Soapbox was set up so regular members would have somewhere to relax and shoot the breeze....It is more for entertainment purposes..BUT of late we have had an intrusion of newbees come in that don't know our posting habits and go off track....
which just knocks the status quo out of balance....all EO asks for is civility and respect of one anothers right to their own opinion...

I am proposing that members have at least a 10% ratio of posts in the upper forums to qualify into the Soapbox arena.

What say you...your thoughts?

Just wait until the ones that don't understand what freedom of speech actually protects read this. It seems reasonable to expect members to post in all forums since this is an expediters website.

Paul...read the CoC.....there is NO freedom of speech...never was, never will be....This is a private website....members are guests....

Paul....as I said the Soapbox has nothing to do with expediting and was I must say reluctantly setup to give members a place to relax and shoot the breeze....we should not be seeing things like..."you are stupid" "you are arrogant"
All it is is opinion...be it right or wrong to a specific reader...one thing is constant....the right to state ones own opinion....with civility and be respectful to another member..

That was my point, I was saying wait until people that think freedom of speech applies to private places.

Most everybody goes along with this - with one or two exceptions.

Should be easy enough to comply with, assuming you mean one post in the other forums for every 10 in the Soapbox. But there might be a problem with quality of posts, for example - Newby A can go on the Sports forum and leave the score for the last Lions game, or perhaps pop into the General forum and say "Here I am in El Paso".

Good point.... God knows I sure am guilty of non quality posts and I admit it....but I have a kindred with my fellow expediter...

I, for one, am going to post where my train of thought is at the moment. If you want to be a bean-counter, and send me nasty-grams that I'm not fulfilling the "quota", by all means knock yourself out.
