Just because I think someone's children is their own business doesn't mean I condone or agree with everything they do, much less want to be Facebook Friends with them.
I knew someone would fixate on the extremes, and that OK. It's why I went extreme with my statement. But the real problems don't lie in the extremes, they lie in the middle, where minding other people's business is encroaching more and more, where eons-old tried and true disciplinary techniques are now, suddenly, felony assault, and making your child cry by yelling at them in a grocery store is emotional child abuse.

The plot thickens as we get to "the rest of the story"......now everyone that thought this person should be able to do with her own child as she wished.......what would you say if it was your child with your babysitter.

Depends upon jurisdiction. Beyond that, generally speaking, you may not harm others. Increasingly, you may not harm yourself.
Pretty much, yes. As Aristotle said, and I paraphrase and expand, as long as what you are doing doesn't violate the rights of others.

In this case, that child has rights also, as do the parents. The child has the right to expect to be kept safe while in the care of an adult, the parents have the right to expect that someone that they've hired to care for the child will take their child's safety seriously. The entire discussion changes when you acknowledge that this child was with it's babysitter, not it's parent.

now what do you mean harm ?? do you mean just bodly harm . or do you also mean mental harm , financial harm , any form of harm to others .

Agreed, if it is my money I should be able to choose what I do with it but the government takes it from me to give it to those that won't work or made bad choices in life.

i havent acknowledge that this child was with it's babysitter yet . YES that does change things
and i do agree with you. have rights to be kept safe , EXPECT TO BE KEPT SAFE by somebody who you hired . would that also include then ones that are voted for
