LoL...Not smart to have a kid in a stroller back there. Now I know it wasnt the safest thing... but when I was a kid, we all piled in the back of a truck... but we were big enuff to hold on! Rural roads and small town tho! It never affected me much. It never affected me much. Or much at all really. Really. Horsefly!

what is wrong with haveing that child in a stroller in the back of the truck .

was the truck going 100 mph?? or any unsave speed ??
was the stroller moveing around in the back of the truck ???
was the driver drunk or was the mother drunk that was holding on to the stroller ??

next people will need to bubble warp their children . untill the turn 18 . while that cop was writing the tickets. a child was truely being abused . but now seince the cop was busy writing this ticket the true abused child will be able to get truely abased agian another day .

would i do it no not really because there is to many what ifs . just like would i try to do the stunts they do with motorcycles . but you dont see people makeing a big deal about them doing the stunts they do . and how many of them have been hurt or been killed doing the stunts . probley more then from rideing in the back of a truck .

so glad people have great standards

and for the one chef posted take the child away and any other ones she has . and then sew her baby maker shut .

I grew up in a small town and we used to ride in the back of trucks but we had to wait until we were around 12. Just like Dale it was always in the small town or on rural roads.

While ill be the 1st to admit that "Child Protection Services" more then not over steps their bounds, in this case, she will be lucky if they don't take that child away from her for "child endangerment"...and they would be justified....

and yes I also rode in the back of an open pickup truck as a kid, as alot of us did, but i too was old enough to at a minimum hang on for dear life....LOL...oh and i was also pulled on a sled behind a jeep on snow covered streets.....:)

Used to ride also in back of trucks but not allowed to untill we were in our teens. We used to grab on to the back of bumpers going down the road after a big snow storm. But the baby in the back of a truck is just stupid.

was the child all alone ?? and since some have such good eye sight to see the mothers face but it is not good enough to see the mother had a hand on the stroller the whole time

so you did it but it is ok . but not ok for anybody else ??

next just haveing a child in a car will be un safe .
what did you see in that video that was so unsafe . did the mother hold the child off the side of the truck . just like the white glove wonder did . but that is ok if he did it. he had moeny . and NO child was taken from him .

YES and most of us even ride in a car with out a car seat since we were 2 years old too . but now they have to be in one untill they are 10 or a certian weight .

rural roads and small town speed limits compared to big city speed limit .
so at 12 it was safer to go 55 and you holding by yourself . to a child in a stroller and the mother holding on to it at 20 to 25 .

I think the point is whether or not it is legal, we did a lot of things like this when we were kids that parents these days cannot do because they're simply no longer legal. Add to that a heightened awareness of what is safe and what is not and any one of us could look back and see that some of the things we did "back in the day" were not only stupid but not safe.

You guys ever see the movie "Wild Kingdom"? About the childhood of Marty Stauffer [wildlife photo/videographer]. He was the youngest of 3 boys, and the one who got to be the guinea pig when his brothers wanted to know if it could be done, lol - he had some pretty wild rides, too.

Sorry, CLC - a baby or child needs to be in a child seat inside the vehicle, period. Otherwise, their chances of surviving an accident are slim & none.

and i do agree . but would most of us be where we are now. if we didnt take the unsafe risks . and isnt takeing unsafe risk one of the ways to reach the American Dream
like i said which standard are we going by then you wonder why there is so much stpid stuff going on toaday with both sides
put doing anything is unsafe . they even say a unloaded gun is unsafe .

alot of people are just like the ones in the video chef posted . lost their common sence . and are just as dumb as a door knob .

one time they say the government needs to butt out of our lives then the next time they say the government should of done something or done that . I ASK WHICH WAY DO YOU WANT IT .
i bet you if there was a gun hanging in the back window some would had a differant opion .
so you dont get me wrong i believe in guns .

That was a good movie, it had that kid from Home Improvement in it. My older brother and I treated our younger brother the same way. You should of seen the reaction our mom had when she walked out of the house and saw that we had raised our younger brother up the flag pole by his belt loops.

is that needs. like we the people dont need guns either .

so i think all female truck drivers need to have a 5 point harness seat belt system to be able to drive truck too period .

remember it is your child and nobody else should be able to tell you how to raise them .

surviving an accident at 25 mph is better then slim to none . and if people would use their common sence when they have a child ANY WHERE in the vehicle .the odds of the child getting hurt would be slim to none too . but we all know it is easier to just warp the childern in bubble warp then for us to use some common sence

people need to choose. useing common sence and be responsible for their own actions OR warping everything up with bubble warp

I'm right there with ya on that one. If it's your child, it's none of anybody else's business. You should be able to do with it anything you want.

And before anyone asks, yes, anything.
