Profitable Load?

Hello All,
I just would like to ask if you feel that this load would be considered a profit making load to you?
141 miles,.12 fuel surcharge,39 miles out from shipper, picking up in lovonia mi going to London Ont.
My first thought on this load was considering where it was going to and how far dh after load was delivered.I did a macro 8 and determined that I was going to dh at least 100 miles to get on a good board.I have not had much luck getting loads out of Canada seems to be hit or miss.Once I did get to a good board I would have to sit 1-2 days because of the number of vans in the area and time of year. I was wondering what you would do considering the info above? Ask for a bonus, first out or not accept it at all.
Thankyou for your input!!!

We don't run vans, but it isn't a load we would consider unless there is another load picking up out of that location.

Patience - and like the above post says - business person first driver second.
Just not enough there for me to take it and if you have had to sit before for days for hauls out that should tell you.
Also, keep in mind you can broker your own load back out if you wish - so if you take it I would strongly encourage you to book a load out of the area before you even leave.

Personally, I would not take that load. Need more money, or something to back for me to consider taking it.

Probibly depends if it's early in the day and they have been having a tough time covering it for hours and hours you might be able to get a 1st out and a bonus out of them. So if you pull out a 20 dollar bonus and you get your 25 dollars from crossing into Canada it's not that bad of a deal because you can deadhead back towards Detroit and get another one with your first out. But if you don't get any of those then you're pretty much screwed because you'll deny it and get thrown in the back. Those loads are absolutely the worst Panther can offer. Those are the reason I dread the Detroit area.

If you accept the load and get a bonus to make it Profitable then yes why not take it. If you can't get more money then no. That is why you need to know what you cost of operation is, so you can ask for the money you need to make it profitable. Because sitting makes you no money it costs you money. It is always about the bottom line not about favors. That is the same for your carrier also.

Only YOU can determine what is a profitable load for YOU! Everyone should know what their cost per mile is. If a load sounds like a loser, it probably is.

I have taken loads out west knowing that I will deadhead back. Before accepting them I negotiate a price that will cover my costs and make the load a profitable one. Promises don't pay the bills.
