Got this from a post on another forum.. bet this guy votes for Obama.


ORONO, Maine - A University of Maine student alleges her former professor offered extra credit to class members if they burned the American flag or the U.S. Constitution or were arrested defending free speech.

I had a class in Soviet politics a long time ago and the professor there spoke of academia and the when there was radical changes in government how they were the first to go. In the case of Stalin right after the war, he rounded up a lot of them to make examples of them and simple just liquidated them because they started to be.. well.. unpatriotic.

Not saying that we need to use Stalin's methods but rather the people need to start pushing back and demanding some of these colleges who are public charter colleges to fire these people and go back to being responsible to the public for which they are to support. The publics interest should be put again before the tenure of the professors and staff or funding for the college should stop by the public.

Also I am trying to find out why we tolerate special rights, like 'Academic Freedoms' - there is no such thing in the constitution, is there?
