It looks like a really good forecast, I hope it holds true!

I want a good, hard, early freeze in the prairie pot hole region. That gets a good frost seal on the pot holes which allows them to hold spring snow melt better. Last years snows produced fantastic conditions for the region. Ponds counts were at all time highs and that led to a fantastic nesting season. Overall duck numbers have exceeded the baseline 1955 count by a huge number.

Real winters are good!!

How can we have back to back La Nina's, which are caused by COOLER than normal water temps if global warming is the rule today?

Ocean currents can be a tricky thing....the Atlantic temp is up coming from the south...I would assume that might be bad for Europe I don't know....

Yeah... I want more dangerous conditions for my truck, so ducks will have more secks.

Nature is GOOD! What is good for nature is always good for man. It just is sometimes tough on individuals. I prefer a healthy eco system. I can deal with it. I find I am in FAR greater danger from summer vactioners on the road than I have ever been due to winter weather. I just shut down if it gets bad.

When I look at that pretty, full-color map, it looks like a normal winter to me.

More like the "winters of my youth". You know, when I used to walk to and from school barefoot, 2 miles there, 3 back, all up hill in neck deep snow. That is how I developed my love for winter weather!!

The positive side to this is that bad weather generally puts a chink in the supply chain. Hence more freight for expediters! :)

That is because you are not from Michigan. We are TOUGH up there! :p Besides, the nuns beat us if we complained about the cold. LOL!!

You think you're tough? When you walked in the snow, I bet you had boots [or shoes] on......tough is walking in the snow barefoot - without anyone beating you. :p
OK, I only did it once [I hate shoes!] but I did do it once, just to say I did it.
Now I hate cold even more than shoes, sigh.

You misread, I walked to school BAREFOOT each way to school. It was 2 miles TO school and 3 miles BACK. It was up hill both ways and the snow was always AT LEAST neck deep!

Us Michigan boys are TOUGH. I loved ice hockey SO much I had skate blades WELDED to my FEET! Saved time when we went to play. LOL!!!
