Private Carrier wanting to cut out the middle man?

This is a good place to gather some much needed info. All responses will be appreciated.

I have a small fleet of trucks (ten). I want to expand my business so that I can have distributors send cargo straight/directly to my warehouse, for shipping. At that point, I, or contracted drivers would ship to specified locations. My questions are:

** How would I get DIRECTLY in touch with the distributor/s?
** Are there any sites that will help me to find and contract directly to distributors?

i quess the most important thing to ask are you near a major seaport for ex nyc area norfolk va etc, as some of the ports need companies to break down and reship containers that some customers may have one or two pieces of freight in container and someone else may have other piecs etc and you should go and check out the port offices of major container companies and say i have a whare house and i can do somemany containers for you and ship it out to, and the hampton roads area of va wharehousing in next 2 to 3 years is going to break lose and there is a shortage of trucks and wharehousing to handle are freight that is coming into this area the port in portsmouth va is building a new port area that will be up and running in about 2 to 3 years
