PrePass question

Just got the PrePass transponder for a week now. They sent me a pretty old beat up transponder and I am wondering if it works right.


When I go by a weigh station the thing beeps at me and the green light comes on, then starts flashing at me, like 2 flashes every 20 seconds or so. And this goes on for 20 minutes or more. These are approximate numbers, but pretty close.

Wonder if the battery is getting low or something. Does yours do this also?

I agree that it is working, but not well. First, I would ask for a new transponder and not accept an old used one. When passing a scale, I get a green light about 7 out of 8 times. Every once in a while I get pulled in to cross the scales. However, when I get a green light, it does not continue to blink as long as you indicated. My green light goes out within a few minutes, usually within 2-3 miles after passing the scale.

Our Norpass does the exact same thing and it has done this since day one 3 years ago not a problem. Our PrePass only flashed green for a short period of time.

We have since combined NorPass and Prepass and just have the NorPass in the truck. I would not worry about the green light flashing for a long time.
