It is pretty common, after declaring a State of Emergency.

Makes HOS look a little silly by saying it's ok to let gasoline and propane haulers work more hours than is recognized as being "safe".

It does not take much to make the HOS look silly. After all, they were written by a bunch of comedians.

Then what is the point of this . . .

"The governor's executive order suspends regulations to allow fuel trucks to be on the road more hours and more days in a row to deliver heating oil and propane. "

I would venture that few TT propane guys stay under 100 miles.

The home/farm delivery drivers might.

They are covered. Different rules if they stay within 100 miles of home office, and return home every night.
If they run longer, normal rules.

My dad drove a 25990k box truck locally for a factory and I don't ever remember hearing him say anything about having to do logs or anything like that. I know he still got pulled over by DOT because we're in Kentucky and we have like 8 dot troopers for every horse in the state. This all being there is a good chance I'm wrong or dad got lucky. But he was home every night but sometimes worked months straight without a day off

Betcha he wasn't placcarded

You sir would be correct. It was either struts to the ford plant in Louisville, part to a hitachi in Harrodsburg ky, or picking up paint from a Sherwin Williams in Richmond. And a couple if other places that supplied stuff to his factory called tokico in berea ky

Yeah it was paint for the struts for F-150 and 250. I don't think it's a hazmat thing, I say that because I've hauled paint with placards or hazmat
