What the H is Pointe Mouillee ?
When you said you'd were going to
Pointe Mouillee I thought it was a pet name for one of your guns .
Do you name your guns ? Care to share the names ?
My shotguns all have been named,,,Mud Buddy.
Layout heading to Cleavland in the morning and thinking that I will be D/heading home M.T as soon as I drop..depending on the log book I just may try to make it. And of course if the grandkids have plans for me..
What are the open times over there..
Late saturday?
Sunday?
Go with the boat..Tell Mrs Layout that everything will be ok..you can catch up on the mortage next month
My calling wont Qualify..I need a music instructor...Thats why I try to hunt where the birds wanna be..LOL
Glad ya said something about calls I need to dig em up and make sure I have xtra reeds.
For the Geese,,nothing better then a Scoby call in my book..single reed..My brother runs the double reeds but I cant get the hang of em.. My Scoby will walk a goose from a 1/2 mile right into the decoys..great call..single cluck is a killer every time on the water.
gotta bed down..5am p-up...
If things work out Ill see ya this weekend unless freight gets in the way..And out of Cleavland,,fat chance with this carrier... Guarantee D/Head out
We had a wonderful, albeit tiring, time at Pointe Mouillee this past weekend. Saturday started with rain but it cleared up early. Crowds were down, so were the number of vendors, BUT, sales and show profits were up!
It was great to spend some time with old friends and raise some money for the marsh. It was also REALLY enjoyable to meet up with "Slo-Ride". He and his wife came out there and managed to find me. It was great to put a face with a name. Even better when the person you are meeting shares your love of the outdoors.
Took a few years but we finnally met up..Was a pleasure meeting..Sorry we missed meeting your wife,Hopefully at the next event.
We took the bus tour and it is a preety big project out there..hope those sales and donations help. I know the trip got into our pocket book a lil but not as bad as yours.. Nice choice by the way.
Really going to try to get over there this season and hunt..Thinking I would like to get in that flooded corn before the Mallards leave. (Or the day the others come down )
