Well we've finally done it. We've put a pet back on our truck after being told by FECC that we could not have our pet onboard. Being the pet lovers that we are, we really missed not being allowed to have our poodle with us.
For my wife's birthday we got her (us) a Mini Boston Terrier pup that is just past twelve weeks old. She has already brought a much homier feel to our truck already, and we look forward to many years of her being our travelling companion.
As for dealing with our customers, we have prepared ourselves with the right equipment to deal with accessing their facilities. She will be classed as being my service dog, which will gain her access to all locations. Since we don't fall under to normal criteria for needing a service dog (blind, wheelchair bound, etc), we plan to qualify her under the "exceptions rule". The exception will be that I'm to fat crawl under the engines anymore and its the dog's job to fetch the tarp's tiedown ropes and pull them under the engine to the other side for me!
