Business in PA are now comming out to demand NO MORE TOLLS. The destruction of commerece is gona hit local PA business first and its citizens. Companies will no longer compete and move leaving all those workers with Mortages and Bills.

Sure a benefit package will be offered to move but to where? Families will be seperated.

Are you willing to pay that Tractor Trailer rate of $130.00 D size trucks will be a bit better proably around $60-70 maybee?

Can we afford this and the .38 cents FICA that PA charges.

All those Truck Stops will be out of business since I am sure all those drivers will be spending there weekly cash on Tolls instead of Meals or showers. How much is enough?

The reason I don't like tolls is because it seems to much like double taxation. You have to pay a road usage tax don't you? Then you have to pay the toll on top of that? If I am wrong someone please correct me. If I am right that is double taxation. The only difference between taxes and tolls is you give hand your money directly to the toll collector instead of mailing in a check. One of the ideals this nation was founded on was for the citizens not to be overtaxed, unfairly taxed, and taxation without representation. I think many people in our nation's leadership have forgotten this.

Thats not the worst of it. Once the road is in good condition with your tax dollars, they will sell it to a foriegn investor for a nice profit. New foreign company will then decide to tax you again because they will say they have no money for maintenance.
Your tax dollars at work.

From what I have been reading in the local papers, they are not even sure if this will go through yet. And if it does, we won't have to worry about it for at least 2 years.

I am just hoping our representative can state a strong case on "why" 80 should not become a toll road.

Time will tell.

Try living in PA your whole life and they keep raising taxes. The lawmakers wonder why they can't get businesses to come into PA and put factories in so that people have places to work. If you look most of the young kids that are going to college and getting a degree are leaving and moving out of state cause they cant afford the taxes and not only that there are no jobs for them, cause they dont have the experience that they need to get the job.

Sounds to me PA has Michigan syndrome. I'd ask why you don't move out of PA; but I'd have to ask myself why I don't move out of MI ;)

That is y i am a truck driver, there was no work for me unless i wanted to stay driving a school bus for the rest of my life which I did not want to do. I am in the process of finding a place out of PA, so that I dont have to pay the high taxes in PA anymore

Is that a typo? $55 a year? I am paying $55 for just the d*mn processing fees for the back taxes I owe.
