A tax on miles driven might just be a better way to pay for roads. NO gps tracking. NOT a good idea to give government more power to know where we are at. Also 100% of ALL taxes MUST go for roads. NOT to pay for mass transit etc. Mass transit should pay for itself, NO SUBSIDIES!!
I'm kind of liking the idea of pay as you go insurance. Sometimes the van will sit for a month or two and we still pay the insurance on it. If I don't have to drive, then I shouldn't have to pay.

Greg, I have State Farm on my pick up truck and they have a "recreational" rate for cars that are driven less than 7500 miles per year. Much lower rates. You can even go over that if you tell them you are doing a long trip in advance. Works out good for us.
