Can you please tell me what is going on at Panther..They have in Detroit 30 vans and only 8 loads every day and I haw trying to figure out where to DH and I was lost...every board is full.. Gary, IN 9 vans 2 loads.

Now this company got no more than 500 loads every day and they have 1200 trucks...I want to kow if any O/O is making money? because I met a driver who's getting 40 cpm and is paying for gas???

Right now it appears to us to be slower than normal for all companies. Grit your teeth and bear it and let’s hope for a better new year.

I actually feel a sense of relief reading your post. It has nothing to do with Panther. It has to do with knowing that Diane and I are not the only ones experiencing slow freight. It is easier to sit when you know others are sitting too.

While we of course would prefer to be busy over slow, you can't haul what they don't offer. So make the best use you can of your spare time and know that the truck capacity decline will be good news for us when freight picks up again.

You are not alone...We at E-1 are also experiencing this slow down...Fortunately the flow is more quit then hires, so fleet is reducing...like always you can only wait it out....

Yes it is slow now and will be even slower during at least the first six months of next year. What would help is if one or more of the major expedite companies fail. This would make more loads for the remaining companies and I believe the A team posted a link to a article that stated this.

With the type of slow down we are experiencing, the vans are certainly getting hit the hardest. Their freight in most cases has been auto related and that has really slowed down.
When just looking at expedite and LTL boards, load capacity has been on the increase as business try to combine loads and ship at the last minute. Six months ago there were numbers of loads under the 2k mark. Now I am seeing more around the 4k mark which is excluding them from a lot of loads.
I believe that is why you see more vans sitting than you did last year.

Makes sense. May as well send more freight at a time, for a little more money. Weight is weight.

Combining loads? WOW, what a novel idea. I did that for years. But, all involved have to be on the ball, and that is a tuff gig to put in place with the status quo of the grey process out there.

Have to agree. May even have to pick up the phone to make it happen.
Can be profitable regardless of which side you are on.

Panther is still keeping me busy. I turned down the back leg of a swap that would have payed me for 2110 miles. It had disaster written all over it! Yeah, I know, miles, miles, miles. But I am in business for money, money, money!

I have been doing fine for this time of the year. I will say that I have seen alot of loads too over 4000k as DaveKC pointed out. Our D units have been doing better than our C units. customers are shipping more and using the whole box to get the best value for their dollar.

18 axles! With three passes through a New York toll booth that rig could eliminate that state's deficit.

I'm with you Jack. I will put my trust in the Lord. A smart man takes the winter off. I got a bad feeling about this one too. Winter is winter, sure is nice to have the internet in the truck, really helps when you know where the snow isn't. Running solo, tractor trailer, had a great week 2 weeks ago, then the bottom just dropped out. We have to think positive, pray for our country, and pray for our leaders. The good news is I get to spend more time at the gym. I would like to encourage those who are sweating financially, all you can do is all you can do. Do the best you can. God will provide, he has provided for you thus far. You do your part, He will do His. Daniel 3:16 Thanks Dpatrick
