There seems to be so many posts that are repetitive( I known because I post them also) , it seems that many of the questions are asked once or more per month, these are not asking for advice but how some people are doing in regards to miles per type of vehicle, weather or not it’s a single, or team operation, truck type, and size. How much can they make, how much dead head , how many weeks do you spend at a time on the road.
I am just wondering is there an easy way that some of this info could be consolidated into a lets just say a Panther II thread. Maybe something like this:
We just started with Panther in October as a team ( husband and wife )in an Alumi-Bunk D unit with an 84" sleeper. After going to there two day orientation we ran a load down to Florida and stayed put for four days. Then it was Bal_s to the wall for the next two or so weeks. After trying to get the truck to play well with others at the dealership we were at it again We stayed busy up until Christmas. Where we hung out at home waiting on the truck to come and play well with others. During the first part of the first quarter we have stayed very busy (until the truck decided not to play well ). So far we really like running for P II they have kept us very busy. Our dead head has been very low overall With only two times running a crazy amount of dead head to get out of a slow area., but that is our problem because no one was beating us up to take the load. In the beginning you must take the time to learn the freight lanes that your company run the most and figure the whole run to include dead head back to a productive area. I will update this post as time will allow. Things that I will try to include will be percent of dead head, About how many miles we feel we can run per quarter ( not exact because that would give my income for the year.) Or if we can give you how many miles we run per week, you can guess what you will do based on how many weeks you will stay out per quarter. That is when you run as we do, but we are a pair of newbies to this part of trucking so it should be very easy to come close to our numbers.
