PANTHER II 900.00 A MONTH TAKE HOME??

I called this morning and they said they would give me 1,800 a week and I would only get 900.00 a month take home... How can you make off of this??? Is that why they give you a microwave and tv because of the sitting time???

Who did you call? Was it a Panther recruiter or a fleet owner that has trucks leased to Panther. No company gives you a moicrowave and a tv,but a owner may equip his units that way to make you time on the road somehat more pleasant. As DD said you need to go do some research on the whole expediting industry.

I don't have a microwave or tv, just a laptop and a military stove.

The guy told me I would get a Frig TV and Microwave in the truck.. Does this mean I will be sitting doing nothing in the truck a while?? Do you get paid for layover??? I am new to this just out of Trucking school... It is a Class 8 Straight Truck the contracter has or what ever you call them...... Give me any Good and Bad......

As the others mentioned, talk to the recruiters directly at Panther.
Again, $1800 a week doesn't equal $900.00 a month.
Your numbers are not working or making sense.

He was speaking of driving for an owner, not being an owner, something regarding 40 cpm @ 15-1800 miles per week.

My calculator tells me that 1500 miles per week at .40 per mile equals $600.00 per week. If you are getting .40 per mile in a straight truck that means the owner should be paying fuel AND maintenance. That $600 should go straight into your pocket. AND yes there is sitting in expediting - with ALL companies. Expediting is hurry up and wait for the next emergency shipment. It is like driving an ambulance. If emergencies can be planned, they immediately cease being an emergency and the freight is shipped in a more cost-effective manner. Expediting freight is not cheap for our (or anybody's) customers.

I've got a 12 volt toaster but it takes half an hour to brown the bread. I had to buy it myself.

For the same price as that toaster you could have gotten a propane torch....browns the bread fast..I have an old Otto Bentz Gasoline blowtorch you can borrow..just dont use it while on the cell phone, working the qualcomm and making coffee.

I just got someone to Team with me... So they told me .46 CPM I am not sure on the team miles now because that changes.... The guy I am teaming did this already... I am gonna give it a try and see how it goes..... If I like it I might go O/O I will be driving Class 8 Straight Truck... Panther II Found me someone to go with... I just wanna make more then 600.00 a month like I am now.... I understand I may get less miles one week then the other weeks... I kinda can see it is Hurry and wait... Another question my Recuiter gave me the guys phone number and I called him and he said his Trucks have a Frig/Microwave/TV is this good or bad??? Please let me know...
