Panther Driver Council

I would like to thank and congratulate Bob Worthington on his election to the Panther Driver Council. Bob will be representing the single van drivers. I met Bob once and he is very knowledgeable of the expedite industry. He has been with Panther for 5 years and prior to that with Roberts Express. Plus he has Hoolign in his corner as an advisor. Any dog that can vacation at the beach while his owner is on the road earning money should provide wise advice.

Also I would like to congratulate all the drivers that were elected to the Panther Driver Council. Especially the E.O. members. I believe this website may have been an impetus for the formation of the driver council.

Thank you all for devoting your time to represent us at the quarterly meetings. Please keep us informed.

My concern is will the members of the council truely represent what many of us are concerned and frustrated about. I.E. why there are no standards established and it seems everyday is a new "rule", procedure, etc? Ok let's look at Sprinters for example, one day the freight will be oversized by standards of a regular van load and Panther will automatically offer you a higher rate because of it. Another day, same scenerio, and you have to call and negotiate for a higher rate and you may or may not get it. I would like to see a set standard operating procedure established and followed through on every load. Panther claims to be ISO certified but without standard operating procedures for their owner/operator/drivers they truely should not be certified. SOP's are necessary and IMO, help to prove the integrity of the company. I do think it is great that a commitee has been established and see it as a step in the right direction.
