im searching for answers. any help would be awesome.

for a b unit cargo van...

what are the upfront costs?
how many miles of free deadhead do you have to eat?
after delivery, do they pay you to go to a specific city for your deadhead?
how much can you load on your comdata card? what percent? can you load this before pickup, after pickup, or after delivery?
what would be typical for the # of runs per week?
how long is a usual layover during the week?
tell me about their fsc.
what are their cargo van specs?
hazmat needed?
canada runs often? any extra pay for canada runs?
do they have a mileage limit for single drivers?

any help would be appreciated. thanks a bunch!!!

Hi, herr

To help you with some of the answers: Contact Panther for upfront costs. You will eat all the deadhead unless they offer you a fleet reposition. (ask Panther). After delivery you can go wherever you wish for your relocation. Again, they may offer you a fleet reposition. rarely happens. Not sure what you mean by how much can be loaded on Comdata card. I had 100% loaded on my card. It usually took two or three weeks, but I found it easier to keep track of my loads that way. Again, ask the kitty. Typical number of loads per week and length of layover? There is no typical. One week you roll constantly, with the next load offer on the table while you are going to the cons. The next week you wonder why you are in this business. The truck owner gets all the fsc. Ask kitty about hazmat license. Canada? You can choose to go into Canada or not. Canada was paying $25.00 per loaded crossing when I was driving earlier this year. Don't think there is a mileage limit. If you have a long haul, kitty will call you and require you to take a break. When I started I learned that you will drive about 90,000 miles a year. About a third of that will be dead head. That is for a good year. Don't know what is happening now. (I retired about April). Good luck

At POD you can get up to 45% of the base loaded to your card. The remaining 55% plus all the fsc and any accessorials are paid through payroll on their schedule. If I remember correctly the only money you need up front is for your physical but check to be sure.
