I have had rumors that Panther II allows you to find your own loads. You give them a percentage of the load and you run like any other load. I have heard rumors that Nations Express has the same type of policy. You wouldn't need the ICC number with that sitation (Or the BS that goes with it.)
Landstar is a good company. The first 6 months is very difficult if you are used to a central dispatch. You are on your own. You make your calls and plan your own trips.(No routing or directions either)
You can broker with Landstar through the Landstar system only. The LTL freight isn't really great for a typical D unit or a B unit. The loads pay usually around .50 cents a mile gross for a couple of skids. If you can get 2 or maybe three of these loads then you may do ok.
