Own an American "Icon"

George Zimmerman is auctioning off the gun he used to defend himself against the "brutal attack" by Trayvon Martin. The gun is a piece of "American history" and is an "American Firearm Icon." The $350 Kel-Tec PF-9, 9mm pistol's bidding starts at five grand. A portion of the proceeds will go towards fighting the violence of the Black Lives Matter movement against law enforcement, to "ensure the demise of Angela Correy's persecution career, and Hillary Clinton's anti-firearm rhetoric." George Zimmerman to auction off gun...

If $5000 is a little steep, for $50 you can still get a print of an original painting by the "I'm not a racist, not at all" Zimmerman of the Confederate flag.

You're going to like the way you look with that gun.

It must have sold. Or he pulled it after realizing his Reserve bid may have been to low.
Can't find it on the auction block. Going to be interesting where it ends up at.

The auction was cancelled just before 11 AM, when the auction was to begin. So far, according to the news reports, no one can find out why, or whether it was Zimmerman who pulled it or the auction site itself canceled it. Although, the auction site probably cancelled it, what with them getting just hammered on social media. Their Facebook page and Twitter feed was flooded with gun haters and Zimmerman haters. It was bad enough that they suspended their Facebook page yesterday and took their Twitter account to private last night.

Zimmerman's Twitter account has also been suspended, which is weird.

But TMZ (your go-to source for quality journalism) is reporting that the gun is now listed for auction at another auction house. They have a screen grab of the auction, but I couldn't find it on the site. I admit I didn't look all that hard, but you'd think it would just jump out at you, or at least show up in the search results for "Zimmerman." But no.

When GunBroker.com removed the listing, the owner of the United Gun Group site contacted Zimmerman to have the gun listed on that site, saying they would be proud to host the sale. The listing crashed the site for most of Thursday and the listing was removed. The site owner then said via Twitter that they were terminating Zimmerman's posting because they did not feel it was in "the best interest of the organization to continue to host this sale on our platform," which is a bizarre thing to say since he was the one who reached out to Zimmerman in the first place.

The listing is back up, with the latest bid at the time of this writing being one Bernie Sanders with a bid of $1,013,000.00. Clearly, and not unexpectedly, people are trolling the crap out of the listing. :D

Bidding is up to $65 million now, thanks to bidder "Racist McShootFace." That user account and his bids have been deleted, but others have continued on. Other screen names of bidders on the site included "Donald Trump," ''shaniqua bonifa" and "Tamir Rice."

Two more bidder's names: Weedlord, Stonewall McCracker

At the point where the auction had 1013 bids, it was up to $65 million, and those 1013 bids were made by just 10 people trying to outbid their own selves. One had like 20 bids all made within a 3 minute span. The auction was still up early this morning, but alas....

As was probably their intention all along, United Gun Group managed to get a lot of free publicity for their auction site.

I dunno, maybe. But the founder of the United Gun Group, Todd Underwood, said yesterday that if an auction is taken down before the end of its full bidding period, it would be done by the seller, not him (Underwood), so in this case, Zimmerman or someone acting on his behalf. Then this afternoon he (Underwood) said that Zimmerman pulled the sale on UnitedGunGroup.com to remove bogus bidders from the listing, and that he (Zimmerman) plans to re-list the weapon on the same site next week.

Zimmerman re-listed the item 3 hours ago, with a tentative starting bid of $100,000 and a But-It-Now Price of $500,000. But the auction doesn't go live until Monday, May 16th at 9AM and will last until Tuesday, May 17th at Noon, according to Zimmerman's comments in the Comments Section.

Incidentally, in the Shipping & Payment options...

  • Payment Detail
    USPS money order only.
I wonder if he knows that USPS Money Orders max out at $1,000?

Is the rhetorical phrase "what a retard" too out of line here? :D

George Zimmerman will likely go down in history as one of our country's most famous idiots. He just won't/can't go away, and it seems like he has the unique ability to screw up everything he attempts. It's surprising that he hasn't been given his own reality show on one of the cable networks.
