Pretty cool to make stuff like that.
I once made a traditional Navajo style upright loom, which produces rugged double-sided pieces with the design showing on both sides, too. Mine was made to make rugs about 2' x 3', though traditionally they made pieces much, much larger. I did it mostly to see if I could make one from scratch that worked, in a traditional style, and to understand the warp and weave deal. Once I understood how to make one and how it worked, and made one piece, I never used it again.
Not sure how I'd feel about a doormat with my name on it, though.
