My son, Ross, along with his entire USMC unit, landed in NYC this afternoon following several months' deployment in Afghanistan. Needless to say, our family is ecstatic at his return. From NYC, they are flying to his home base in North Carolina where after one or two days processing, he will be given leave to come home for the holidays.
Ross has apparently become quite the shutterbug, telling me he has taken 500 or more photographs of everyday life in war-torn Afghanistan. Those photos should make interesting viewing. We are anxious to hear his accounts and hope he is largely unchanged from the young man who left the States many months ago.
