I don't know how many of you caught Obama's speech last night but the content wasn't important enough as I expected it to be.
But I got the feeling I was watching one of two people depending on where they put the camera - Hitler or Caesar.
The entire "I am going to address the nation to save our efforts" idea is getting tiring, especially with these issues that make it out like he has a big deal on decidding and then have to "sell" the idea to the people and more importantly to his party with the added benefit to tell the world he made a decision.
The Hitleresque moments were when they pulled back and you can see the entire autiorium filled with people with his standing on the stage which seems to elevate him above the common man. I wasn't expecting Leni Reifenstal camera angles and dramatics used in what should have been a Oval Office speech. But then again he is our false god, our messiah.
Reading the speech this morning, I didn't know that Vietnam was a war we only fought. I understood that there were other countries involved, like Afghanistan.
