orientation

getting ready to go to the panther orientation in about 3 weeks or so.just wondering a few things.like how many days will it be,what to expect,what should we take with like paper work.how long does the back ground check take.will they go over logging,never had to do logs even thou i have a class a.how long after orientation can you drive. thanks mike

Well it used to be three days long and they do the background checks before you go in I believe. And they will go through logs and everything with you, then you can go into service 10 hours after orientation unless they have changed things since I worked there.

I never did orientation at Panther, [I came from ConWay - maybe they thought ex Cons would disrupt 'class', lol], but I would hope the background check is complete before you get there, and the one iffy thing is the drug screen. They can't legally allow you to drive until that comes back.
PS Don't take any paperwork - they'll give you more than you ever wanted, promise.

I never did the orientation thing either. Next month will be 8 years with Panther and I have never set foot nor tire on their property. I'm in the neighborhood this morning (Wooster) but I don't think I will be stopping by for coffee.

I went to HQ only once, to return the QC - I think you need to be 'escorted' beyond the lobby, anyhow, so you'd probably feel more welcome at the Pilot.

OMG, we had an ex-Con in my class. He was the entire disruption to the class. Finally, someone asked him why he even bothered coming to orientation if things sounded so bad, and then we found out he was an ex-Con.
