O'reilly takes offense to the following clip from the Simpsons cartoon, calling them "Pinheads".

It's a little surprising to me (maybe disheartening is a better word) to see such a blatant example of dragging something from outside the current thread, into the current thread, for the sole purpose of a personal attack. Clearly, my long-running educational campaign to get people to pay more attention to what was posted, rather than to who posted it, is a failed one.

I totally agree with you, although I do watch Family Guy on occassion. That is why I find O'reilly's beef with the Simpson's utterly hilarious. O'reilly is probably upset that the Simpson's cartoon probably have twice as many viewers than his show(totally a shot in the dark, I could be wrong). This ego-maniac O'reilly has it wrong anyway, it is he who is biting the hand that feeds him.

I think you should reread the thread, Not speaking for The Turtle but he clearly passed up my post and quoted Leo's post which quoted RLENT's post. If your post was one of your first to mock Fox or conservative entertainers, I would fall into that category. but it's not.

Yeah.....I was trying to break it to him easy. Maybe you should've included Jim in your post about LDB's post, about Turtles post to LDB that was actually intended for your post about my original post.

I didn't direct my comments towards jamin because his comments weren't an attack, but a simple observation, since, as jim pointed out, the Soapbox has become a de facto single thread and subject when it comes to Fox, et al, with respect to Witness' posts. That's not the case with LBD. And while I don't necessarily agree completely with his assessment of Fox cartoons (the Simpsons alone have done some very edgy political stuff, this year's opening sequence in particular, which pίssed off China to no end), his post here reflects the thread subject completely, and was on-topic, having nothing to do with Medicare. I just don't think bringing something from outside the current thread and subject, into the thread for nothing other than to hammer someone, is really all that necessary and doesn't add much to the current thread. But that's just me.

RLENT's post was also an observation of LDB's comments on how "Fox Cartoons" are for the "bottom of the barrell" viewers. Which one could contend he is making the argument that the only ones who watch or enjoy the Simpsons would be brain dead digenerates that have a hard time comprehending reallity. Which, personally, I think it is a brilliant observation by RLENT.
