Options for "small scale" expediting

From the little i know of what i tend to think of as "small scale" expedited freight, typically cargo vans are used for this. Can a crew cab truck with a long bed, and a solid piece camper shell be used for small scale expedited freight?

There are carriers that have pick-ups, but not all of them. Express 1 is one that I've seen with pick-ups.

Express-1 only has one truck and it was grandfathered in... I dont think we are still taking them on

pkoelle,

Please consider a Class 8 Tractor, Straight Truck with a DOT approved sleeper, or a Sprinter first. So many more opportunities with these types of units available now.

I wouldn't do it. It drinks fuel like a locomotive and won't haul as much freight as a cargo van would. A long pick-up bed is 8 feet long, the camper shell typically only gives you about three feet from floor to ceiling. A standard-length CV gives ten feet from the seats to the back doors, the door opening will be 4 feet top to bottom and typically will be at least 52" wide at the doors.

pkoelle,

Any feedback? We help many folks like this - but we never hear back from so many. Best wishes!
