Operation Corridor being conducted starting Tuesday
Ontario Provincial Police, the ministries of transportation and environment and municipal police forces are banding together for Operation Corridor, an annual initiative to crack down on aggressive and unsafe commercial truck drivers on provincial highways.

The 2011 edition will run from 6 a.m. Tuesday through to 6 a.m. Wednesday.
During last year's operation, police pulled over 1,769 commercial vehicles, writing a total of 159 speeding tickets, in addition to various other charges, police said.
Police will focus on moving violations, while ministry inspectors will hone in on poorly maintained vehicles, mechanical issues and emission standards, pulling vehicles off the road if need be.
