Operation Christmas Child

Hey All,

I am looking for a little help. It seems my church missed the local deadline to get boxes out for Operation Christmas Child. We have about 20 shoe boxes full of gifts for kids and need to figure out how to get these boxes to one of the following drop off centers.

Currently, these boxes are in Traverse City, MI. I will load them in my van and will post my location in this thread daily. If you are in the same area and know that you will be able to drop these at one of the following locations by December 10th, please give me a call at 231-392-3744. On Monday November 28th, I will be in the Detroit, MI area.

It's my understanding that the total space needed is 3x4x3 and about 60 lbs.

The "Shoebox Ministry" is a project of Billy Graham Ministries, and they are filled from a specific list of items, and they already have recipients planned for them (needy children)... Im sure the Salvation Army would welcome donations, but would probably not distribute them as intended.

Preacher Rich, I'll keep an eye on your whereabouts. If not, ya may have to UPS them.

Mayfield Express will give some money to a driver that will help out with this. PM if you find a driver willing to take the freight.

Good Cold Morning!

Sitting at the Hampshire,Il T/A waiting on a load. Still have the boxes but am sure I will get close to a dropoff center soon. If you know you will be by one let me know.

We have thought about many different options but desire to get these gifts to where they were originally prepared for.

Due to some needed repairs on my van, I will be in Traverse City, MI until at least Tuesday or Wednesday. That will give me 2 or 3 days to try and get a load near one of the drop off centers. If you have any suggestions feel free to share or send me a pm.

Repairs done early and currently in Lafayette, IN. Hoping to get a load to NC, MN or GA so I can get these gift boxes droped off. If your in the neighborhood and heading by one of the centers listed above, let me know.

Sitting in the Monroe,Mi T/A.Looks like a cargo van convetion here!

Got a load on board and heading to La Grange,KY. I dont have to deliver until 7am tomorrow. So, I have an extra 10 hours to shuttle these gift boxes to anyone who is going near a drop-off center.

Just found out that the MN, GA and CA drop of centers are accepting boxes until the 15th. I am currently sitting in Kansas City and the dream is still alive!
